It is a beautiful resort. The lay out of the pools made me smile every morning, one has to walk by them to get to the restaurants. The consideration to the pools is also appreciated no one is left out- regardless of your age and swimming skills you are covered. I thought that this is very dope.
Raphael Kinuthia deserves a shout out, not because of only his service to our family, he was very observant and keen with others and always there to be of assistance. 
The activities and entertainment crew are also on point.

The sore point for me was the Face/Front of the resort. Checking in took forever, others took priority- l got the sense that we were expected to be okay with being ignored and kept waiting. Checking out, calls to the Front desk went unanswered and when it was brought up the one person wanted to go back and forth denying that No, No call was made. Why have Reservations and a Front Desk if you are not going to communicate to be aware of how many check in/check outs so as to plan accordingly? It might also be a good idea to have the right staff manning the desk for your non English speaking clientele based on who is staying at the resort at the time?

I have just returned from 11 days at Neptune village beach resort, overall I had a lovely stay, but there are major improvements needed. Having travelled to Kenya twice previously this hotel was ranked the lowest in my opinion. I will start with the positives, the majority of staff are friendly, especially bar staff, gardeners and housekeeping staff, the hotel grounds are immaculate and well kept, pool is lovely. The food here is gorgeous and the chefs are fantastic! The staff serving are also so friendly and welcoming! I will miss the food especially! 
Onto a few slightly more negatives, the rooms are basic, kept clean and have everything you need, the house keeping staff are wonderful and clean thoroughly, my biggest issue was that the hotel only provides you with 3 small glass bottles of water a day and does not stock up the mini fridge? I can’t understand why this isn’t being stocked up with soft drinks for guests like any other 4* hotel. This moves me onto my second point, the bar does not open until 10am, therefore between the time I went for breakfast and 10am, usually around 2 hours, I was left with nothing to drink in very hot weather, I think either the bar needs to offer water, which it doesn’t throughout the day at all, or mini fridges should provide soft drinks to be able to take down to the poolside. 
The showers in the room are often cold and I had probably 2/3 showers that were warm but the rest freezing cold, no matter how much I ran the shower. Bedroom has extremely loud sliding doors out to the balcony, that my downstairs neighbour complained about many times! I explained I couldn’t help the noise of the door! This could be improved! When the bar opens at 10am, the only soft drinks that you can get are sprite, Fanta and coke, there are no non-alcoholic mocktails which I often enjoy on holiday instead of alcoholic, this was disappointing! The soft drinks they do serve come from big bottles so are very often flat and luke warm! My partner had an alcoholic cocktail on a few occasions and they were hit and miss, sometimes good, sometimes awful. 
I read on a previous review of this hotel that members of the animation team were asking guests to buy them drinks, this happened on many occasions by the animation team and I kept telling them no!!! When I told them it was not allowed they said no one will know, we just slip in and take it! Very unprofessional in my opinion and they were quite intimidating, there were lots of children around and I couldn’t think of anything worse than letting the animation team get drunk around these children! What this hotel could really benefit from is a shop on the hotel grounds that sells snacks and water, the local shop is too far to walk too therefore it would be beneficial for guests to have this considering it’s a 4* hotel. 
The entertainment in the evenings was poor, nothing exciting or fun, just the animation team trying to make guests laugh and failing, they are pointless in my opinion and the hotel could do better without, they just seem like they are there to enjoy their summer and get drunk! 
The pool has been split into three different mini pools, when looking at photos online I was under the impression it was one large pool but the hotel have put metal barriers in between separating it into 3 smaller pools! Not ideal in my opinion! If you are planning on swimming in the sea, be quick, run down as there are lots of beach boys who will grab your attention and the next thing you know you’re handing them £10. 

Overall, I really did enjoy my stay, there are definitely improvements to be made as above. I want to show special recognition to two members of staff in particular who blew me away with their customer service skills and friendliness. Fadhili who works at the bar is a wonderful young man, friendly, kind, always willing to help and always happy! He is an asset to the Neptune village team and I hope to see him still there if I return next year! He made mine and my partners holiday so much better in every single way! He’s an Angel! He’s the BEST barman I have met in all my years or travelling! 
Secondly, Shemeda who is a waitress in the village restaurant is the kindest sweetest soul ever! She’s always polite, asks how we are, how our day has been, and serves us with a smile! My partner drinks a lot at lunch/dinner time and Shemeda was constantly getting him more Fanta!!! Constantly!! She was amazing! One of the best waitresses i have ever met! 

These two staff members are fantastic and I hope they get the recognition they deserve.

Lovely holiday but room for improvement

We had a lovely stay at Neptune Village for our honeymoon in September 2024. We spent 10 days in the resort, with a 2 day safari excursion in the middle of our stay. The resort is clean, well maintained and small enough that it doesn’t feel overwhelming, but big enough that it doesn’t feel busy. There were never a shortage of sun beds, especially because you also have use of the resort next door as well and a significant number of beachside sunbeds too. The buffet restaurant was fantastic - really varied choices. We also tried the snack restaurant which was really good as well. 
On the whole, staff are very friendly. Everyone you pass, from housekeeping to management, will greet you with a friendly ‘jambo!’ (hello in Swahili). The reception staff couldn’t do enough for us, even helping us book excursions and visits off site to ensure we got there and back safely. The hotel have their own taxis with set fees to and from popular tourist destinations making it really easy to get from place to place. 
Bar staff are wonderfully polite and great fun to chat to - big shout out to Baya who looked after us particularly well, we loved talking with him at the pool bar every day! The cocktails we had on the all inclusive menus were really delicious, with alcohol free options available too. 
The animation team are good fun - but they are clearly young people there to enjoy their summer in a nice resort. They often would ask us to get drinks for them from the bar which landed us in hot water one day as they aren’t supposed to drink on shift. Also we once returned from a game of water volleyball to find our drinks had been taken by a member of the animation team, which was fine as they were all inclusive, but a little cheeky. The activities are good fun and varied enough to keep you entertained throughout the day. We particularly enjoyed water volleyball, and the evening shows with visiting acrobatics and traditional dancing troupes. We also enjoyed the guided beach walk led by Hope from the animation team. In fact, Hope was another staff member who went above and beyond for us, offering to mix up and bring my husband some coconut oil and aloe vera aftersun lotion when he spotted he had bad sunburn during a volleyball game one day. 
We used the Baobab Spa and had a wonderful couples treatment there - the spa therapists are very friendly and made that experience really enjoyable. The prices are very reasonable and it was a really relaxing morning that we spent there. 
We booked an external safari excursion which was fantastic - the hotel provide a breakfast box for you to take with you so you don’t get hungry on the drive there. Be aware that from Neptune, you will probably end up driving for 5-6 hours to Tsavo East and it is an early start (5.10am!), but totally worth the experience. 
We also recommend booking the snorkelling & glass bottom boat available through the dive school kiosk on the site of the hotel - it was amazing to see and hold the creatures, and the guide was really knowledgeable. One of our favourite things that we did on the trip for sure. 
There are a number of monkeys and cats in the resort who are after your food - I am an animal lover so didn’t mind them, but they can be a bit scary sometimes. First day we were there we had a monkey knocking on our screen door in the middle of the afternoon! Wouldn’t recommend walking around the resort with food, or leaving it unattended around the pool. Also don’t leave doors open to the rooms, as they do like to come inside. 
The only thing about the resort that we didn’t like was the forcefulness of the souvenir sellers in the evening. Every day, the resort allows souvenir traders to set up shop by the pool so that visitors can peruse the market before and after dinner and during the evening performance. Some of those vendors can be a bit forceful with trying to get you to buy their wares - don’t get sucked into their friendliness or it will set you back a lot! Same goes for the beach boys who will try to sell you things as you go to and from the sea - you have to keep your wits about you.
Finally, the housekeeping staff are fab. Our room was turned down every day, and even found our pyjamas had been folded and clothes put away for us. You can’t drink the tap water so there is always fresh bottled water in the rooms. One day we had a lie in and so housekeeping didn’t visit but left water outside the rooms and even enquired with us later to see if we were okay as they thought we were unwell. It’s little things like that that make you feel valued as a guest! 
Overall, it was a fantastic holiday. We would definitely like to visit a Neptune resort again! It’s been a magical experience.

Honeymoon

It was a fantastic stay with the family. The employees are friendly, the rooms are clean, the gardens are beautiful and the restaurant has variety of food. 
A change of the towels would be good. They are very old. Also work on hot water in the showers, it was barely available.

Fantastic Stay!! There are areas to improve on.

A very nice hotel located in a beautiful garden right next to the beach of the Indian Ocean. Stylish houses and ubiquitous monkeys emphasize the exotic nature of this place.

Very clean everywhere, toilets smell fresh.

The staff of the entire hotel was very nice, friendly, helpful at every step with a constant smile on their faces.

The food is very good, varied, in large quantities, everyone will find something fot themselves.

The drinks served at the bar were fantastic in every respect. The bartenders, despite the crowd of guests,  served each of them efficiently whit a constant  smile on their faces.

Omar deserves special recognition, whose skill and mobility exceeded expectations and made the guests feel special.
 His artistry, finesse, lightness and ease in preparing and serving drinks emphasized his professionalism.
 Just congratulate !!!

I know that I will come back to this hotel soon...
