Started out with a friendly check in with an awesome room. First day at the beach we were greeted by Andre & Judith and their big smiles. They always were there when you needed anything. The following morning we went to breakfast and were greeted by Derval & Twain all week and always started our days off on a positive note. The grounds are very well kept along with our room by Crystal and our guy who kept our bar well stocked. Sorry I didn’t get his name. We were able to get into the specialty restaurants 5 nights out of our 7 day stay. The buffet always something satisfying for our tastes. The Jerk Hut was a big hit for us for lunch as we could sit on the beach and enjoy the best Jerk Chicken that I Have ever had. One of my most favorite things was the local musicians playing music for us on the beach. The beach was one of the best that I have been and there was plenty of shade when needed. The entertainment was good and had something for everyone along with the added entertainment at the bars and the bartenders enthusiasm that really helped keep everyone entertained. Once again I feel as though I made a good choice in choosing to stay at a RIU Resort whether in Jamaica or the DR!

Awesome Vacation

The beach at Riu Palace TB is what makes this resort what it is.  The clear blue/green water that you can see the sandy bottom and very minimal sea weed and just enough wave action to have fun but be safe are just a few of the wonderful things along the beach in front of RiU TB.  The service and staff are exceptional as well, very friendly and accommodating.  The ocean view jr suites are nice and spacious, we did get woke up a few times from the fire alarms, and the toilet didn't flush right away a couple times, but the a/c worked fine and we actually needed the extra blankets in the closet because we were cold. The food is good, with the exception of the Japanese restaurant.  The pools are well maintained and with 3 of them, and the beach, there was always room at any of them.  Towels and chairs were always available as well.  We wish the coffee place inside the Daiquiri Bar in the lobby would have been open earlier than 10am, though.  The jerk chicken hut was great for a quick lunch on the beach if you didn't want to go to the buffet.  Would have liked to have had a wrist band that also served as your room door key so that you didn't have to carry those around or worry about losing it.  There are no elevators at this resort, so keep that in mind if you get assigned a 3rd floor room.  Overall, we have stayed in 2 Riu's and will continue to book with Riu for future vacations.

RIU Tropical Bay Negril

The location in the centre of ‘Bloody Bay’ is perfect with a beautiful beach and ability to walk along the beach to the sister ‘more lively’ RIU Negril at will
The Check-in process was efficient and stress free.
Our room (Junior suite with garden view) was spacious, clean and up to date. The bathroom with twin-basin and  walk-in-shower was very clean and shower itself, excellent.
Plenty of shade provided by pools and beachside. Good lounger availability.
Cleanliness and upkeep was first class
Salt water swimming pools kept very clean
The friendliness and helpfulness of the hotel staff was excellent 
The quality of the buffet food was very good, with plenty of choice across multiple food tastes. Especial plus for all pork dishes, chinese dishes, freshly baked morning pastries, the selection of local jamaican options, sushi, omelette service - minimal use of oil and fresh.
The availability and quality of poolside self service cafe and poolside drinks/cocktails was excellent - (Shout out for Jelani:-))
Although the hotel experienced heavy rain while we were there it coped well with drainage channels built in along paths to ease flooding around the site.
All credit to the hardworking and talented entertainment team led by ‘Spotlight’ who were always doing their best to present and deliver a varied programme for all ages and interests.
Very good water activities provided by ScubaCaribe. Signature snorkeling trip excellent (Santana, Tevin & Crew)
A great selection of Jamaican bird species could be observed within the grounds which added to the hotel’s attraction from an ecology interest pov. Idea for guided activity for future guests?


A fantastic way to experience Jamaica

Nice property, friendly staff, beautiful beach.Absolutely no problems at the resort. The drive from the airport is fairly long and the airport in Montego Bay was ridiculously busy when we were leaving but no other problems were encountered. Would definitely go back.

Very Nice Week

We spent a week here in this beautiful resort. We had an ocean front room which we enjoyed. The beach was absolutely beautiful and food delicious. Rooms were comfortable and spacious.  The staff were very nice and everyone had a smile to share. We did have a little problem making dinner reservations at the specialty restuarants,  but we got it figured out. You need to make reservations early in the morning, two days in advance. We totally enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.
