We stayed here in July and had a horrendous week. The room we were given initially was like a hostel and when we complained we received a very aggressive response.  It was only due to the intervention from our reps that we were eventually moved to a room in one of the newer buildings. At a glance the room was better but as we unpacked we noticed the toilet seat was cracked/broken and not safe to sit on, the sink didn't have a plug (just a gaping hole), the kitchen sink kept blocking and emitting a terrible smell (vomit-like), the smoke alarm was hidden in a drawer, there were only a few plates(glasses/cutlery (incomplete), things have clearly been broken and not replaced), and we came across several huge cockroaches scurrying across the walls and kitchen worktop. We later found big spray under the sink!!!!!

The luggage room is actually attached to the pool toilet (1 single toilet for all the guests) and so people are in and out constantly (it's not secure in any way). The toilet was vile (the bin was overflowing with used loo roll, someone had been sick all down the back of the bowl and the shower cubicle didn't have a shower hose/taps - just am empty cubicle), so there was nowhere to shower after checking out.

This hotel is sub-standard (1.5 - 2 star at a push, certainly not 3 star). Not suitable/adequate for anyone over the age of 18/youngsters on their first holiday, and one to avoid if you're any older (and a bit more travelled). 

Be aware that you'll be fleeced on arriving for air conditioning, the safe and WiFi access. We had to pay 150 euros on the spot (and that was just for air conditioning and the safe). I've never heard the likes and when we raised this with our reps they said hotels can charge what they like in this respect/holiday companies have no control. There are signs dotted around the hotel advertising 'free wifi' but this clearly isn't the case.

Security guards patrolling at night told us to go into our rooms (off our balcony) as it was after 11pm. We were 2 grown adults sitting there quietly, couldn't believe it.

We felt so strongly about things that we are pursuing a complaint with Jet2/ABTA.

The hotel reminds me of self-catering apartments back in the late 80s/90s when Brits first started going to Greece (knowing that things would be very basic). This place desperately needs some investment/modernising. Not sure what it's trying to be as it's neither a family hotel nor an 18-30s. A lot of the youngsters we spoke to were disappointed/have stayed in better previously, so that speaks volumes.

Avoid with a bargepole!

I stayed next door but came in bought food and a couple of drinks. A1 guys fanastic experience if I'd had the money I would have seen if you had a room and stayed with you instead ♥️♥️ warm, friendly, staff amazing and funny xx the little girls behind the bar lovely to see .  I wasn't the only guest from next door that wanted to come and eat with you guys, unfortunately the rep put a stop to it . I would never had taken liberties with you guys at all X well done I'm back next year but in stalls. If came back to Malia your my first choice. Can't praise you enough xx 😎😎🥰🥰

Non hotel guest 

my first holiday in a long time and what a memorable time i have had my Room was spacious bedsit style with balcony and view of the sea, stunning shower room and as for the staff was very friendly a beautiful family run business Demi was extremely helpful and girls behind  the bar friendly  you feel very safe with excellent security team around at night time,I was a solo traveller and not once did I feel unsafe no matter where I went,
Greek night was a learning experience beautiful traditional dancing with amazing food,and also have a large menu of meals and cater for various diets,Perfect location as close to beach,shopping area and the nightlife and I am going to go back next September with my daughters I had such a fun time with respectful people made a few friends too .

solo Traveler Fantastic holiday

The hotel staff were ever so friendly. Initially we were a little skeptical as this was our first girls holiday and we don't usually party much (the hotel seemed quite a party vibe), however it was a lovely place to stay and we really enjoyed the authentic greek night. 

You do have to pay for wifi and air con, this is something they get you to individually pay which isn't unusual but a warning wouldve been nice. However this did include entry to the Greek night and I would definitely recommend going to that. There is also a drinks happy hour which we definitely made the most of. 

Get in early to get a sunlounger (if you want to be togather), usually we still managed this though. We also had included breakfast and they were quite good with allergens and helpful. All the staff were friendly and wanted to help, also everyone really does recognise your wristband from the hotel.

Nice party location

Lovely hotel, staff very helpful and friendly. Accommodation is of a good standard.
Location is close to bus stops and main roads and it is a nice walk down to the sea.
Value for money is very good. the "Greek Night" was excellent, plenty of food and lots of laughs.

Excellent value for money

This family run hotel is located at the end of Malia beach road, in the old town. It is 30 km east from Heraklion and the capital city is approximately 30 m by car. Stalis and Hersonisos are within walking distance too. Guests will enjoy a lively and active atmosphere full of bars and restaurants. It is the perfect place for young couples and groups of friends who wish to enjoy an intense holiday experience.
