Pool

I definitely would not recommend this hotel for relaxation or food quality. On arrival the receptionist were not welcoming nor did they smile. We only used the pool once as the music blasting out from the pool bar was not relaxing. The bar staff especially Dafne were miserable. The drinks are definitely low quality and diluted and the food boring and repetitive. No fresh fruit juice only syrups !!! We ate out most meals and used the beach in the day. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel. My only positive is that the rooms were really nice and kept very clean the cleaners always said hello with smiles. Maybe you have the right staff but in the wrong roles.

Not worth the money.

Housekeeping appalling. Sometimes didn't come until 8 in the evening. Sheet sizes not suitable. It took days for them to give us a sheet that would cover us. Mattress uncomfortable. The hotel did not have enough key cards. Toilets in public areas not cleaned unless we complained. Door of room didn't close properly. Had to get staff at midnight to come with a screwdriver to fix lock. As it was the end of the season they didn't spray public areas to protect us against mosquitos. The swimming pool was surrounded by grass not nice paving, We all got bitten. We also had ants in our room. Spa hairdresser wanted clients to wash their own hair in their rooms and then come to see the hairdresser in the spa. There were plenty of sinks in the hairdressers so not sure what that was about.

Poor service

I have gotten out of the habit of reviewing hotels but this was so bad that it has spurred me to restart.

Stayed here with a large group for 12 days. It's hard to think of a place that deserves to be called a "hotel" less than here. Amusingly the hotel claims to be 5 star.

The rooms themselves are basic and certainly not 5 star. Everything had a bad quality about it and parts fell apart upon touching them. Any request for new items or fixing were ignored until nagged about. Some in our party  had broken showers which took two days to fix. Others moved rooms, twice in one case.

Housekeeping was a joke, with rooms being "cleaned" until late at night on some days. When they came, they dumped folded sheets on the bed without making the bed. On some days no sheet was left at all. One day I just took one myself from the cart in the end. On another day, they left 4 pillow cases stacked instead of the sheets. I only discovered this when getting into bed at midnight.  So I had to get dressed and go to reception to get a sheet, as the cart had gone. Reception didn't bother to apologise.

Housekeeping didn't knock when entering the room. One day I was in an important work call when a cleaner waltzed in. I had to terminate the call and ask them to leave. No apology was offered until I escalated the matter to the manager. Others complained of being walked in on in the shower and more.

For the first few days there was a lack of hot water in most rooms. (Very 5 star!). After a few days of complaint from many the hotel did us a favour and switched on a boiler.

Overall the place feels unfinished and of bad quality build, with unsafe staircases and bits falling off.

There was an outside caterer so I can't comment on the place's food. The staff in the dining room were very good, in contrast to the rest of the place.

In summary,  this can't be described as a hotel as the place clearly isn't run as one.  More like a holiday camp, if we are being generous.

A joke of a "hotel"

The shelf under the sink that had the towels and loo rolls on had brown spots on.  When I wiped this off with wet tissues the tissue went completely brown.  I then wet tissues and wiped inside the drawers in the bedroom and they too came out dark brown!  One day after housekeeping had "cleaned" our room they washed the cloth of the floor mop in our "cleaned" sink before washing our floor.  I had to ask them to clean the sink again because I saw this floor mop had just been used in the room next door.  I caught a nasty virus 2 days after my arrival whereby I had severe vomitting and diarrhoea.  I then heard from around 20 other people at the hotel over the next week that they had caught it too.  Two days before returning home my daughter who shared a room with me caught the virus too.  I believe this could have been avoided if more care was taken with hygiene at the hotel.  Housekeeping need better training.  
We stayed there for 12 nights.
Upon arrival we put our valuables in the safe but the safe then locked itself and we couldn't open it!  We were tired from the travelling and wanted to relax, unpack and get some rest.  Instead, we went back and forth to Reception to beg to help open our safe.  Eventually they changed the whole safe.  There were women walking around in handbags day and night complaining their safe did not work too.
All over the hotel, all the toilets in and out of bedrooms had no locks on.  This was frightening and nerve wracking.  The toilet doors too were also only made of frosted glass.  A big risk for an abuser or paedaphile to attack!
We also had no duvets on our beds when we arrived but luckily housekeeping were finishing off our room so we asked and received them.  However there were some elderly people staying at the hotel telling me they were very cold at night and sleeping with coats over their sheets, that the hotel told them they had no duvets left!
Every evening the windows to the dining room were opened and tiger mosquitos flew in biting us and other guests really badly.  The hotel did not put out any mosquito repellent plug ins. 
The swimming pool both inside and outside the hotel was freezing cold too!  A very disappointing and upsetting stay!

Stay away!!

Where did the hotel get the 5 stars from???? 
I will not choose this hotel again. There are too many things that don't work in this hotel.
1. Really bad service. (no smiles from the staff)
2. Throughout our hotel stay we have had problems with the sink, where the water ran out of the pipe (constant flooding in the bathroom)
3. There are no clean tables to sit at in the hotel restaurant. There is a staff shortage and the staff is very very slow. 
4. The hotel's furniture needs to be replaced with something new. 
5. Part of the Children's Pool was surrounded everyday with pool hose which can be dangerous for children when they play. They can fall off it. 
6. Children's play area indoors and outdoors was terrible. All the toys are broken. Outdoor playground has no shade during the day when the sun is shining and in the evening there is no light so children have the opportunity to play when the sun goes down. 
7. The food is very boring and the children's food is exactly the same every day. Pasta with sauce every day and pizza. There were no nuggets, fries or burgers etc.
8. We have had a private pool which we share with 5-6 rooms. One of the pool stairs is broken. 
9. Long queue for the pool bar.
10. You can't lock the toilet door.
11. The hotel is built in a sloppy way. The glass around the hotel is very unstable and very crooked. I didn't feel safe. Fake grass was uneven. 

Many things don't work at this hotel and the list is long. 
I would 100% not recommend this hotel.
