Lovely hotel ideally situated about 10 min walk to the town, along the sea front, passing several good restaurants along the way. 
The sea views are breathtaking - from all rooms, from the breakfast terrace and from the stunning swimming pool. Yes there are many steps as the hotel is spread up the hillside, so not ideal for those with mobility issues, however not a problem otherwise as there are two external lifts if you need them to get to the rooms.
The swimming pool is large, with a smaller pool for young children. The pool area was rarely busy, never a need to rush to get a sunbed, in fact there were beds available at all times of the day. Fresh swimming towels available every day.
Staff were super friendly and very accommodating. 
The only thing I would improve is the fact there are no toilets by the pool which was a bit of a pain as you had to go up to the hotel to use the toilets there. 
Reading previous reviews we didn’t know what to expect however we loved our stay here and would definitely return.

Stunning sea views!

As a family of 5 we had a very enjoyable stay in one of the 2 bedroom private pool villas.  The accommodation was very spacious and had a bathroom and a shower room, which is almost a necessity for a family of 5.  We were also pleasantly surprised to find it had a nespresso compatible coffee machine.   There was also a Spa bath but it didn’t appear to work.  The private pool was amazing as were the stunning views.  It just needed a bit of a refresh of the decor and better beds.  

Overall the staff were really friendly and helpful, sorting out any issues we had immediately and the breakfast was great.  We were only on the bed and breakfast plan but had an occasional evening meal there, which was buffet style and found it a little over priced, compared to what was available in town.  We did under estimate the steepness of the hill it’s on and found the climb after a night out pretty tough even as fairly fit people who live in a hilly part of the UK.  We did think that the hotel might benefit from running a shuttle service to and from town. 

On the whole we had an amazing holiday and would stay there again.

Lovely relaxing family holiday

It is difficult to understand how this hotel receives negative reviews, as this was one of the nicest holidays we have ever experienced. From the warm and friendly greeting on arrival, to the moment we were picked up to leave, everyone was so polite and accommodating. We stayed in a spacious air-conditioned room on the top floor which provided the most amazing views of the sea. In fact, the views are breathtaking from all parts of the hotel. The hardworking staff clean the room every day with towels and toiletries replaced if needed. Breakfast is ample and good quality, with a selection of hot and cold food to suit every taste. Various eggs, meats, cheeses, pastries, fruit, yoghurt, sweets, breads, juice and coffee/tea. There was even some homemade bruschetta one day. The pool area has lots of sunbeds with parasols and we never had a problem finding one at any time of the day, the hotel even provide clean pool towels. Like everywhere else, the views are just idyllic and a little bar is also on this level providing drinks and food. The lager is Alfa, perfect!! We would like to say thank you to the lovely ladies who serve breakfast, work at the bar during the day, and then sort drinks and food during the evening, you all work so hard. 
There are lots of steps, especially if you are on a high level, but the grounds are very well kept and the paving looks new and safe. There are 3 lifts to various floors and they were always available. 
Location is at the end of the strip, but the walk to the harbour area only takes 10 to 15 minutes. It seems less due the beautiful scenery and there are also a few tavernas en route. The area isn't particularly 'touristy' so you dine in restaurants with local people as well as visitors. All bars and restaurants were very good indeed.
We loved this holiday, the hotel, the staff, the breakfast, the views and the area overall. So much so in fact, we immediately booked to return next year, to an on-site villa with a pool!

Wonderful!!

We have just returned from a fabulous week at this hotel. Apart from a leaky kettle, everything was spot on. Yes the bedroom decor is slightly dated, but it was spotless, and the view from the huge balcony was stunning. We spent so much time just looking at the sea, mountains, clouds, boats. It’s just mesmerising. The room had a small fridge which was useful, we bought a few mixers in the village supermarket, picked limes from trees en route and enjoyed our duty free with the view! 
The pool area was well kept, sun beds and towels aplenty. We loved the club sandwich available from the bar and the cold pints of Alfa were delish!
Breakfast was ample, we ate down in the village every night, the walk was lovely and manageable if you take your time (and use the lifts back up).
Going towards the end of the season meant that some of the restaurants and bars were shutting up as tourist numbers dwindled, I wouldn’t leave it much later than 1st week of October. 
And finally a mention to the staff, who went out of their way to make our holiday a special one. From the very smiley Ukrainian lady who served breakfast and worked in the pool bar, to the chap who helped carry our cases up to our rooms, the blonde lady on front desk who knew we’d come down for ice and would hurry to replenish our little ice bucket, and all the cleaning staff who worked tirelessly, you were brilliant and we thank you very much for your hard work.

A fantastic holiday

This is an excellent hotel. The views over the bay and towards the hills are magnificent. The staff are all very friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. My room was clean, and the daily cleaners ensured it was spotless throughout my stay - credit to them. Perhaps the bathroom is a little dated - a shower hose over the bath tends to leave splashes on the floor, but this is really no problem. On the balcony it was a joy to sit at the table and look across the bay. An armchair in my room would have been a welcome addition. It should also perhaps be noted that all the rooms are up what might be a tough climb for some. There are two lifts, but one has to go up fairly steep slopes to reach them. The hotel is  well-designed and fits into the landscape pleasantly. Recommended.

Excellent hotel

The seafront Kefalonia Bay Palace is a charming Ionian style hotel built amphitheatrically in the bustling town of Agia Efimia. It offers accommodation with breathtaking views of the Ionian Sea.
