We stayed at the Atlantica Dreams resort for one week with our 20 month year-old and had a great time. We had a family room with a partition door, which was upgraded to include a swim-up pool, which was nice. The room was very quiet, being away from the main resort area, though there was a 4-minute walk from our room to the meals. The room and resort in general were clean, modern and comfortable. There are a number of pools, including an indoor pool which was useful for the few rainy days we had during our stay, as well as a water park and splash pools, the latter of which our toddler enjoyed in particular. 
A special shoutout to the baby club for 0-3 year-olds that has several daily sessions where you can drop off your toddler in the capable hands of Laura, Lauren and team, which allowed the parents some alone time, but also was greatly enjoyed by our little one! The baby and toddler rooms were beautiful, clean and safe. We got extremely lucky as they were free during our stay. (Since it is an all-inclusive hotel, I wouldn't have been happy if it wasn't free.)
The restaurant area is large and the buffet is copious and of good quality, with good variation day-to-day. We also had dinner at the Greek restaurant Gaia one evening, which was also good, the waitresses were all absolutely lovely. But worth noting that all restaurants apart from the buffet need to be reserved in advance. Because of this we didn't manage to try the other restaurants. 
The restaurant staff is great, in particular Adelina and Rimi, who were very attentive to our needs and provided excellent service making us feel special. But so many other who were also great (Vjollca, etc. basically almost all the waiters in the main restaurant !!). 
There is a huge amount of staff in the resort that contribute to making it a comfortable stay, and I wish I could thank them all personally (unfortunately I don't recall their names, the lads delivering the water bottles to your room were very friendly and so kind to my child making sure he gets his favourite juice, or the extremely friendly and helpful driver ('Farkas' but not sure?) who drives you to your room and personally delivered our toddler's laundry the same day, was much appreciated!).

While overall the resort is excellent, there are some minor improvements that could be made to make it even better. 
1) The piano bar, while adding atmosphere, could be moved away from the lobby area, as it makes the already large lobby area noisier and sometimes talking with receptionists difficult. 
I would also suggest to add a small playground in the reception to make the reception area perfect as parents would often relax there when it was raining or when waiting for the bus, so having something to entertain the kids safely while the adults have a drink would be a great addition.
2) The sports hub has a good selection of screens from which to watch events, however closes at 11 pm local time along with all bars in the resort. While this is generally a good idea in a family friendly resort, for certain events (important football games) it would be nice if it stayed open longer. 
3) There are a lot of swim-up pools for all rooms on the ground floor, which is great, however a lot of these have very limited privacy, being next to footpaths or main pool areas. A suggestion could be adding hedges/ bushes or plants around the terraces or private pools.
4) Upon arriving our room wasn't very clean. There were quite a bit of spiderwebs next to the wardrobe and under the bed, that never got removed during our stay, so the cleaners are clearly not very detail oriented.. 
5) Although the buffet was excellent, they clearly cater to Brits and central Europeans, which is completely understandable, I do wish there was a bit more local food offered, and more cut fruit variety (there were always only 3 fruits, and if you have toddlers a wide variety would make our lives easier). I did expect more from a 5-star hotel, as food was generally bland. Not bad at all, but not exceptional. If you are a foodie (or an Italian) who's used to go to fancy restaurants with amazing food, then you won't be impressed. The juices/ drinks were of poor quality. 
6) Restaurants in the evening and Tui activities/ kids club get booked up fast, since there are very limited spaces, which was quite frustrating as we didn't get the chance to try other restaurants, and archery was sadly always fully booked. 
7) A snack bar at the kids pool area would have been nice. If you get hungry or thirsty, your only option is to walk all the way to the reception bar or pool restaurants for food. If you don't have several adults supervising the kids you don't feel comfortable leaving for 10min to get drinks or food (maybe longer since the service can be slow if there's along queue at the pool bar).
8) We didn't sleep well because our mattress was way too soft and would sink in the middle. I think it was probably getting old and in need of a change.

Worth also noting that the resort is located on the south side of the island, which means there is a 2 hour transfer from the airport, as well as to go to Rhodes Town for a day trip, which can be tough travelling with young children.  

Due to the bad weather, the room temperature was cold at night, with no ability to change the heating. Quite frustrating.

Additionally, keep in mind there is an extra environmental tax, which was unexpected.

All outdoors swimming pools were freezing, but this is expected in end of April, so don't bother paying more for a room with a pool. Luckily our toddler didn't mind, but heated pools would have been a game changer. Even the indoor heated pool was a bit cold on some days.

Child friendly luxury resort

Atlantica Dreams has been the best hotel I've ever been to. Amazing food, fantastic staff, always something to do. The entertainment was also 5 stars.  Special thanks to Jim from the spa who was equally as fantastic, my massage was great as was my facial. He was really knowledgeable about my skin type and recommended different ways I could care for it. He also got a million knots out of my back. I couldn't recommend him enough!

5 *s. Can't fault it.

Having been to the Sensatori hotel in Cyprus last year which was incredible, me and my partner were so excited about coming to this hotel, we even got my parents to come along with us.
Looking at the photos and some of the reviews prior to booking, we were counting down the days like kids at Christmas. 

On the surface, the hotel looks incredible. It’s very aesthetically pleasing and if you care about Instagram at all, this may be the place for you, but if you don’t care about the aesthetics of social media. I urge you all to stay clear of this place!

The room: entering the room, it looked great but at a closer look, it wasn’t very clean. Cleaners became lazier throughout our stay with the level of housekeeping dropping throughout our visit. The bins would be changed but they’d forget to put a bin bag in the bin.
The bed was super comfortable and the shower was lovely so I’ll give you that! Working in hotels before, I never saw any spare glasses on the cleaners trollies, were they just being rinsed out in the sink? 

Food & drink: awful. I understand people have different palettes and different tastes but the food was tasteless. Extremely plain, basic food with not much variety. Breakfast was okay at best with your standard hot & cold options. The pizza served for lunch was delicious but other than that, for a 5 star hotel, all of us weren’t happy with the food options available at the main buffet with the “A La Carte” restaurants not much better. The staff in the main restaurant would be arguing amongst themselves quite a few times with some of their attitudes being disgraceful. I saw a review on here before saying “the staff treat you like you’re eating for free rather than having already paid for it” and I couldn’t agree more. They give you sighs and roll their eyes if you ask for coffee with breakfast. 
The cocktails, soft drinks and alcoholic drinks at the bars were vile too. They all tasted like sparkling water with a cheap syrup in all of them. Throughout our stay, we had wine served in Prosecco glasses, Prosecco served in beer glasses and beer served in whatever they could get their hands on. There was no consistency. Even with coffees, some would be served from an actual espresso machine with proper steamed milk and a proper coffee cup, other times you’d get coffee from the quick machines. 

Entertainment: throughout the day, awful. They reuse the same pianist multiple times throughout the week and with all due respect, he isn’t very good. Other than that, a saxophonist and the TUI entertainment team singing for half an hour every night, that’s all you’re getting. If you’re looking for somewhere with an exciting night life, don’t bother to come here. We even got told off by a manager one night for singing to some music with other guests. Maybe if you provided decent entertainment, we wouldn’t feel the need to try and provide our own.

Hotel staff: before going into the negatives, a special shoutout to Dan (incredible singer) & Luca from the entertainment team who were always friendly and approachable and provided us with entertainment of an evening and then waiters/waitresses Paola from the Piano Lounge and Stelios from the pool bar (young guy) (differentiating as there was another Stelios we came across), both were so friendly and were always coming over to check if we wanted anything! Well done to those!

Onto the negatives: hotel management are a joke! As someone who works in hospitality, I can easily spot when staff are unhappy within a workplace and with myself and my family constantly seeing hotel management speak down to their staff and tell them off in front of guests were disgraceful. The staff were constantly working hard throughout the day and management would stand around trying to spot things that were wrong to tell staff off.
We spotted one of the managers stood around in the restaurant by a messy table and was stood there for 2 minutes or so waiting to spot another team member to tell them to clean it up. Help your team out! Management think they’re above everyone else and walk around the place like they own it. It’s vile.

Lastly, we made friends with two girls who had come on a holiday, with one of the hotel managers harassing one of them over Instagram! Messaging her multiple times whilst being ignored - yet continued to message her. Some of the messages including “I weren’t happy with the men helping you sort your umbrella out” and on check out day saying “I see that you’re leaving us”. It’s disgusting! They left the key in the room so went to ask for a replacement key with the men behind the desk already knowing their room number! To check it out, we requested a room key ourselves and they needed us to remind them of our room number. On the last day, we were together down at the American snack bar waiting for the girls taxi to arrive, without any communication of our whereabouts, one of the managers approached the girls at the snack bar and said “your taxi is here”. How would they know that without texting each other? The member of staff who organised the taxi had no message from us to state we were going to wait by the American snack bar. The constant staring from the male managers towards the girls were disgraceful too. Do not let your young daughters come here alone! I could go further into this as there was so much more done but it’s not my story to tell. 

Overall, we were all very dissatisfied with our stay here. I would seriously consider not booking here for anyone wondering! It got to the point after a week where we all couldn’t wait to go home.

We spent 11 nights here early April as a family of 3 - our son being 15. 
On first impressions, the hotel is very nice, the grounds are lovely, nice pool areas and our room was nice too. 
However, there it ends ; this is not a 5* hotel. 
The buffet is poor with bland repetitive food which isn’t hot and is not kept topped up. The choice is far from 5* with none of the expected  touches you would expect such as smoked salmon, sushi, steak etc.  
The restaurant is actually really dirty, there are filthy, rattan type placements which have a range of previous guests meals embedded into them., the floor area is  not swept between guests and the chairs have dirty cushions full of stains. 
The service for drinks is slow with irregular offers of a top up, this is worse at breakfast. 
The bar service in the evenings is ridiculously slow with diluted cocktails made with syrups. The queue at the bar was long and waitress service 20-30 minutes. 
During our stay, the weather unfortunately wasn’t great and we were unable to sit outside but there was no where near enough seating with us and other guests having dragging in the outdoor chairs. 
The various managers we spoke to admitted all of our issues were valid and justified but we saw no improvement during our stay.
Sadly all in all, we were left very disappointed

Not a 5* hotel

Hotel was awful and wouldn’t visit again. But I have to give a five star review for the Spa within the grounds.
We had three treatments over the week with Magda, Via and Alex who were absolutely amazing! 
So welcoming, helpful and the treatments we had were sublime.. 
if you do decide to go to this hotel ( wouldn’t recommend) 
Do go to the Spa if you want some excellent pampering ..
