Sannat

Situated to the south of Victoria, the village of Sannat is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, rich in flora and fauna. Ta’ Ċenċ, within Sannat, is famous for its spectacular cliff-edged coastline, its far-reaching views and the wide range of species of bird and plant life which can be observed there.

When to go

The warmest months in Sannat are July, August and September, out of these, July tends to be the hottest. Temperatures in Sannat reach the low-30s.

December is the wettest so is best avoided if you prefer sunshine to rain whereas April, May, June and July are the driest months.

Top Attractions

There are a number of sites close by which are well worth a visit including several pre-historic locations, temples and ruins.

The beautiful St Margaret's Church overlooks the bustling square at the heart of the village where several bars and cafes offer a shady spot to enjoy a refreshing drink.

The remains of L-Imramma Temple are also a tourist hot spot.

The Hanżira Valley is another fantastic sight to see. It’s a natural gorge that can be seen in its glory from ix-Xewkija.

Beaches

Xlendi Beach is the closest beach at just over 2 km away. Other beaches nearby are Ramla Bay, San Blas beach and Marsalforn Bay.

There are lots of restaurants to choose from in Sannat serving a variety of food. European, Mediterranean, Italian and fusion food is available. You will also find vegetarian and gluten-free options.

The best areas for action and adventure would generally be the beaches nearby to Sannat.

However, walking along the incredible coastline may be adventurous enough for some.

You can fly into Malta from most countries and then travel onto Sannat by car and car ferry, or bus and bus ferry.
