On the south west side of the island, not far from the island's capital Victoria, Xlendi has developed as a resort with a range of hotels and restaurants, yet still retains its original, delightful fishing village atmosphere. The best time to visit Xlendi Bay would be June, July, August and September when the weather is warmest and the bay receives the most sunshine. December is the wettest month and is cooler than earlier in the year. Because Xlendi Bay is such a great place for beach activities, it is best visited during the warmer summer months.
Xlendi Beach, cliff and caves are the most obvious attraction in Xlendi. It’s a beautiful, natural site that is a top choice for diving. There are various other diving attractions available to enjoy in Xlendi, too. These include St Andrew’s Divers Cove, Utini Divers College Limited, Moby Dives and Xlendi Watersports. Whether you want your whole holiday to be centered on diving or if you simply want to give it a try, then Xlendi Bay is an excellent holiday location for you.
The pristine waters of the shingle bay are ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving. The waters are fairly shallow near the beach, but there are deeper waters further out for those that are more confident.

Xlendi is fairly quiet in terms of nightlife. If you are looking for a livelier scene, then you’d be best going to the mainland of Malta.
Although Xlendi Bay is an ideal location for relaxing on the beach and partaking in water sports, you’ll still find culture here, just like the other Islands of Gozo.
Xlendi Tower is located close to the beach and makes for an excellent cultural trip. As a watchtower that dates back to the mid-seventeenth century, the sea view at the top is excellent.
Diving is the most popular choice of activity in Xlendi Bay. In fact, it has to be one the top choices areas diving, particularly for beginners, in the whole of Gozo.
Xlendi Bay is easily reached by car from Fontana or Munxar. You can fly into Malta and get transfers from there. Public transport is available in Gozo, but buses are not as frequent as on the mainland of Malta. Ferries and water taxis are popular modes of transports and taxi services are great value, too.
