I would not rate this hotel to avoid it becoming overbooked in future.....but since this was our final visit of six to the Island where my late parents met and married in WW2, I can say that it is a FANTASTIC wee gem with great staff and location!

PHENOMENAL, COMPACT HOTEL WHICH KNOWS HOW TO LOOK AFTER ITS GUESTS. FANDABYDOZY, AS WE SAY IN SCOTLAND!

L'hotel si trova in un punto strategico della città così da muoverti liberamente a piedi o raggiungere in meno di 10 minuti il terminal dei bus (che funzionano benissimo e ti portano ovunque a costi irrisori). La camera, con balcone alla francese, era pulita, ampia, con tutto il necessario per un soggiorno confortevole. Purtroppo ho trovato il materasso molto scomodo e si sentiva distintamente lo sciacquone del bagno al piano sopra il nostro. Il personale è davvero gentile, anche se un pochino "ansiogeno" durante la colazione, ma ci sta poiché la sala è piccola. La colazione buona, con scelta di dolce e salato. Purtroppo non abbiamo testato la piscina perché rientravamo davvero troppo stanchi!

Nel cuore della città!

This hotel is perfectly located in centre of Valetta do walking distance to sights and bars & restaurants. 
Our room was good size, very comfortable with a gorgeous view. It was quiet apart from one night when some other guests were on the rooftop bar scraping their sun-beds and laughing loudly. After a couple of phone calls to reception this what dealt with and the noise subsided. The roof top bar was supposed to be closed from 9pm do we were surprised that this occurred at 11pm. We did notice on future nights that the doors were locked to the rooftop which avoided any further disturbances. 
The bed was super comfortable and plenty of hanging space & storage . The room was exceptionally clean and the decor was lovely and all paintwork was clean & scuff free. There was an occasional unpleasant smell in the bathroom but leaving the extractor fan on helped reduce this. 

The rooftop bar had amazing views of the 3 cities from it . The pool was lovely and warm and there were  plenty of sun-beds available. 
Getting a drink from the rooftop was a bit ‘tricky’ because the barman was often absent but pleasant and friendly when he was located . Twice we had to go downstairs in the lift to find him , he told us he was sorting bills. Maybe this could be done upstairs whilst ensuring guests are attended to. 
The buffet breakfast had a good selection of hot & cold food items . At times though it seemed slightly chaotic and food items often ran out so guests were stood waiting for them to replenished. Filter coffee & tea were served and topped up frequently at your table . We were not made aware at any point though you could request other coffees eg latte, flat white, cappuccino etc and only found out by chance on our last day when we noticed other guests being served them. 

The downstairs bar was very attractive but never seemed to be anyone in it which was a shame as this would have been lovely for a night cap. 

The staff at the hotel were all friendly and polite and we received stand-our service from two of them . Ellen on reception was lovely . She was efficient, friendly and very professional . She always had a smile for guests and offered great advice where to visit and recommended places to eat. Sanj ( trainee breakfast waiter from Nepal ) was an absolute delight . He was  happy , friendly, attentive and efficient. He always had a smile of his face and passed pleasantries as he served us. Both Ellen & Sanj are a credit to the hotel- well done both! 
We would highly recommend this hotel and if we return to Valetta would definitely stay here again .

Great location

Stayed three nights at The Gomerino Hotel with my family.
A lovely boutique hotel right in the heart of Valletta. I understand why the TripAdvisor community rates it so highly.
Let me summarize the pros and cons:

Pros

The location is absolutely perfect: right in the historical city center. Fortunately, we had already returned our rental car at the airport — you definitely don’t need it here, and parking is practically impossible.

Excellent facilities. The rooftop terrace is beautiful and includes a small bar.

Very warm welcome at the reception.

Cons
Just a few minor points:

Our room was at the front of the hotel. The Valletta garbage collection service operates at night. For example, glass is picked up in the middle of the night, which causes quite a bit of noise.

Rooms on the patio side have windows that cannot be opened.

The reception provides a list of recommended restaurants, but they would be better off skipping this. The quality of the listed restaurants doesn’t match the standard of the hotel.

Great Boutique hotel

We’ve just returned from a fabulous three night stay at The Gomerino and our stay could not have been more perfect. The hotel is in a fantastic location and we were lucky enough to be there for the fireworks. What a spectacular view! Having the rooftop pool and sun-loungers makes it a lovely place to wind down after touring the city. The food was delicious and had a good selection. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and my husband and I enjoyed a super massage from Maria too. We will definitely be returning.
