Arrived late evening, reception staff friendly but given NO Assistance only a map & brief instructions to the apartment.  Limited lighting, dark, substandard map, dragging two heavy suitcases and hand luggage around a large complex, up a steep hill with my 76 year old was less than fun or a great start to the holiday.  Up and down steps, round & round in circles, meeting other guests in same predicament for more than half an hour, on top of being delayed, we were ready to exploded!!
Eventually found the apartment, first floor, and more steps!! I had to drag all cases up at least another dozen steps to be greeted to an extremely hot  Apartment. There was complimentary water, tea coffee etc.. which was a nice gesture.  Apartment ok, well equipped iron, ironing board, safe, hairdryer but definitely not 4 star Tui blue standard.  Wifi almost non existent, TV poor signal and unwatchable, informed staff on two separate occasions but issue was not resolved.
Positive: cleaners were lovely and need some recognition for their hard work.
The Resort of Bahia Feliz  is basically a Tui all inclusive hotel Orquidea and two self catering blocks situated up a steep hill.  Adjacent to the hotel is a “shopping centre” this comprises of four or five restaurants, a small spar & hipper dino and two small bars usually open in the evenings but very little to do during the day or night.  Small manmade sandy beach with a few loungers then rest peddled, not the most appealing beach we’ve encountered.  Entertainment is basically the Hotel animation team, who worked extremely hard but catered more for children and families, hence everything finishing around 10:30 - 11pm.  Resort not really for young couples without children or mature travellers like ourselves.  Spent most of our days catching the local bus to nearby playa las ingles, Porto rico etc…
Respect to the Tui Staff all worked tirelessly throughout the complex but the Holiday just wasn’t for us

Not for Us…

We are just finishing up our stay here at Las Pitas and I wanted to write a review to counter some of those negative reviews on here.

Firstly the good!
These rooms are very clean and definitely have everything you need for a comfortable stay whether you are self catering or all inclusive.

There are more than enough sunbeds for all - there are obviously bed hoggers everywhere but that’s normal. We tried to be by the main pool each day and always achieved that despite not getting there till 10 some days in the peak half term. All 4 of the properties were sold out and this was not a problem.

There are plenty of activities to keep everyone busy if wanted but equally some days we opted for a lay round the pool or a slow walk along the coastline (beautiful).

The frappes at Thea’s coffee shop - 25% off for all inclusive guests and well worth it at just over £4 for 2! 

And don’t believe reviews that say the Las Pitas apartments are a 8 min walk from the main hotel - maximum of 3-4 at best

The not so good
The only real negative I could have about this place is the food and drink. The head chef is a really nice guy so this makes me sad to say but we found the food to be samey every day and not particularly nice. Snack bar was a better lunch alternative and we even opted to eat at one of the local restaurants one night despite being on all inclusive.

Equally the cocktails are very much just a syrup and possibly some watered down alcohol - all pretty much tasted the same and were a bit disappointing 

Neither of these things spoiled our holiday though and are just things to consider if they are important to you.

The outstanding
By far and away the outstanding part of this hotel is the staff! All of them! Every single one from your TUI guides to the staff working in the restaurants to the entertainment team, the cleaners and reception - absolutely everyone you encounter is here to make sure your holiday is amazing and you can really feel that!

Overall we would definitely come back!

The good, the less good and the outstanding!

This is a really odd reciew to write as i have as many positives as i do  complaints.  

I will start with the bad and then move to the good.

- it isn't made clear that Las Pitas is so far away from the main pool/complex area or that the only way to reach it is up multiple flights of steep steps or via a very very steep hill. If there was just 2 adults in good health it would be fine but if you have small children, a pram, a wheel chair or similar or you can't walk a good 100-150m up a very steep incline this accommodation isn't for you.  We arrived in the dark with 3 suitcases, 3 hand luggage a pushchair and very grumpy 2 year old. Was given a map and sent us to get on with it.  We had to drag all the cases and the pram to the very top of the steep hill where we got lost and their own security guards couldn't agree where the room was.  We eventually got to the room, which was the furthest away building and on the 1st floor (again great fun in the dark with the pram and 2 Yr old and all the cases. 
I checked on the tui website and there were multiple rooms I could have booked for arrival.the following day so went to Reception and asked if we could change rooms to the main hotel where it said online they had rooms and I could have booked one there and then. I asked to move offering to pay the difference between the cost of existing room and the room we would move to.  I was told there was no rooms and we couldn't move - very poor  customer service given there were rooms available. Resigning ourselves to the trek each day we got on with our holiday. 
I just feel that in the info about the hotel it should be made really clear about access/distance and thr hill. If it did I would have booked in the main hotel to begin with knowing our needs.

His was supposed to be a 4* property it wasn't,  I've stayed in better 2/3* properties. Everything was worn/in need or updating and the air con was in the living room area not the bedroom where you tend to need it most. 

Room and location aside things got much better.

Baby Club and their staff are amazing. Our daughter loved going and really enjoyed it. She came home at the end of the 2 weeks with a folder of art work and they sent us photos and videos of her activities by email so we could see what they were doing.   Couldn't praise then highly enough. 

Food and drinks are good (we didn't drink spirit so can't comment on those) but the sangria, Rose wine, larger and soft drinks were all great and easily accessible for the all inclusive. 

Food in the main restaurant was good in terms of choice but like most AI buffets could be warmer at times. 
Lunch in the bar area next to the pool is good, snacks burgers, nachos, hot dogs,chips and snack and some days they do chinese. It's always hot. 
We ate at The Taverna as part of the AI and that was a really nice meal from a set menu. We also ate a few times at El Sultan which was great food each time. We ate breakfast there once and had 2 or 3 evening meals there over the 2 weeks. It's was excellent quality every time and the chateaubriand was our favourite.

The pool areas here are amazing, and our little girl loves the pools and was in them every day. There were no issues getting sun beds or shade, and you didn't have to be at the pool at 6am to get a bed, which was a lovely change.

There is a small shopping centre near by that had decent local supermarkets and a range of restaurants. We ate out twice over the 2 weeks at the Chinese which was nice. 

We would return to the resort but would choose to stay in The hotel Orquida rather than Las pitas.   Pick the right room/part of the resort and its definitely worth a visit. 

Good and bad but would return

Nice hotel, i liked everything. It is in a little village,, a little strange with restaurants and market. The sea is just near the seimming pool and there is a little beach. There  is a good path well maintained along the sea to relax yourself walking. Just relax at the swimming pool and enjoy the dinner or breakfast, both of those very nice. The little flat was clean, nothing to complain. Definitely you need a car if you want to visit the island, not far from the airport.

Not sure why whinney people moaned about this place. 
Well i asked the travel agent for a quiet break. This was perfect. 15 mins transfer. Nice place only a few bars. Enough area to walk around every day. Hotel seemed nice & clean. We had a Nice kitchenette although we were half board. Appt was last up a hill so not many people passing. Very small village , 4 pools Stoney beach.,Very quiet , Food quite good. Its buffet . Drinks were reasonable. Large beer & wine €7.50. 
3 supermarkets. Food reasonable. 
No stags & hens. Mainly young families pre school & mid to older couples. Only a few tat shops. Food in restaurants other than hotel were reasonable. 

Beds are a bit basic , but we slept ok. Shower head rubbish but hey i held it & we got by. 

We didnt do any trips as we have done them all before. 
 
Good weather 22/24c . Went dark @ 7 pm

Only downside was we got there late had dinner & a few drinks then had to haul cases up a hill in the dark with a bad map. We were in las pitas, path & steps to left easier than hill on the right.

Nice quiet little  village
