We have stayed at this hotel probably 15 times over the years and it was our first time back for 8 years having fancied a change. We stayed for 4 weeks over Christmas and New Year.. 
This is a large majestic hotel with a touch of faded grandeur. When it was built it must have been really special. That said it is still a very good hotel with plenty of space to wander round and it is spotlessly clean. 
The reception is large and uncrowded, the piano bar is magnificent almost like a cathedral, six stories high. The entertainment bar is also large.
Great pool area with plenty of beds. The rooms are large and comfy and very clean with a good size balcony which has the sun most of the day.
Nice dining room with very good food and friendly staff.
The evening entertainment in the piano bar was really good. We had an Elton John tribute act who looked and sounded just like him, an excellent guitar vocalist who could really play and did everything from the blues to the Eagles and hard rock, A saxophone player who was brilliant and various piano players too. They could do with more seats in this bar though.  
We used the shuttle bus most days which is handy and taxi's are cheap.
This isn't a 5 star hotel but you don't pay 5 star prices and we have already booked again for next year. 
This is a comfortable friendly hotel and if you see a glamourous lady with blond hair and high heels walking round, that is probably the director. Say hello and you will get a smile.

Wonderful holiday.

The hotel is quiet run down. The rooms need a bit of tlc. The entertainment is shocking really bad. The food was ok something for everyone. Drinks are fine but stay away from the cocktails they were awful. The pool area was fantastic plenty of sun beds and lots of room. The pools are freezing. The spa was ok great if the weather was rubbish. The tiles are falling off and needs a bit of money spending on it. The one thing which was really bad was the guests in the restaurant they never dressed up for the evening they looked as if they were going gardening or walking the dog so it made me feel over dressed. 
This has been my second time to the hotel and sad to say I will not be back.

Don't get too dressed up as the guests let the hotel down.

The hotel in itself offers all that you need for a reasonable holiday.  Built in 1995 it doesn’t feel some what tired though.  The rooms are spacious and clean.  But our curtain was hanging off the runner and it needed to be hooked back on and the blackout curtains could have done with a wash. In fact the cleaner visited every day at around 9am and always very polite even when we asked if she could come back 10 mins later as we were still getting dressed for breakfast.  However, it’s the carpets to and from the entertainment area and up to the first floor that are in desperate need of a vacuum as well as dinning area carpet (which was particularly dirty). In fact they need either replacing or just removing.  The Nigara bar area needs some updating of furniture as many of the chairs are torn and very dirty.  The food was reasonable and plenty of choice and it’s the bulk standard all inclusive menus.   Though the rota for clearing of tables needs some review.  Once people had left the tables they stayed uncleared for some time. Not sure if they were short staffed.  In fact we used to get our own replacement cutlery and reset the table ourselves.  Although it’s early in the season the entertainment isn’t great so we often sat in the piano bat instead. The hotel is about a 20 min walk to the sea front and for those who don’t want to walk there is a free bus which runs three times a day.  As well as plenty of pool you have tennis and other out door recreational areas.   You can use the spar once a day but this really does need some repairs in their pools as many of the tiles had come off of the walls and in some cases the areas are covers with gaffer tape.  There are saunas and steam rooms too. Staff are friendly and helpful.  It was a reasonably priced all inclusive and that’s all we needed so it suited.

Okay place

On arrival the welcome was nice then got to room very run down broken wardrobes plaster falling of ceiling and wall on balcony blankets on bed torn very disappointing  breakfast was served cold service was very poor dinner was served cold service was bad reception carpets on stairs all dirty sorry but would not give this hotel a 4 star maybe 1 star entertainment not good too far out 20 min walk to town all in its a no from me

Dissappointed

Good hotel! The main reason why it was a good holiday was because of the animation team. ESPECIALLY CONALL he is so sweet, funny and a kind person. He’s easy to get along with and can make such good memories with. I’d come back to see the animation people again they are all lovely!

Conall is the best!
