We hadn't been here before but we were very happy with our whole stay. On arrival we were given a glass of fizz which was very nice and the staff were very friendly. They helped us with more than one query about the area, and even got the handyman to repair one of my wife's shoes which had come apart!
We had a junior suite which was better than we hoped for with a nice balcony looking over the gardens. In fact we noticed none of the balconies seem to be overlooked which is nice. the gardens were lovely and the pool area, although fairly small, was clean and open with plenty of sunbeds when we were there.
The food was superb. It is buffet food but the quality was like a restaurant, super attention to detail on the presentation and taste.
If we had one issue, it is that the hotel doesn't have a separate lounge to sit in if for example the weather was poor or if you didn't want to sit in the bar in the evening. There is a large reception area but only a few chairs and it's not really a sitting area.

Excellent hotel, very good holiday

We stayed at Lava beach from 11th to 21st February 2025. It is a modern, very spacious hotel situated right on the beach. It is spotlessly clean and the staff are, without exception, welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Several times during our stay we were approached by staff asking if we were enjoying our stay and if we needed anything. We had a very comfortable, well equipped and spacious sea view room in the main building and its balcony caught the sun from dawn until 3pm. The room was very quiet. The hotel and grounds have been designed to be particularly easy to negotiate for anyone with a disability. Several guests were blind and I noted how a staff member went round the buffet making a (long ) list of everything that was on the menu. They then talked it through with the guests.

The variety and quality of food at breakfast and in the evening buffets was truly outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the cooked to order steaks, langoustines and fish and I never had to wait long. The choice of starters and deserts was very wide. I would have scored it 11/10 but I take a point off because the only thing missing from breakfast was granola! However, my Scottish need for oats was more than made up by the delicious porridge flavoured with cinnamon sticks! We booked the à la carte restaurant on one evening of our stay and the service and food was excellent. We thought the drinks prices in the restaurants in the evening were very reasonable. Two bottles of water are supplied to the room each day FOC.

There is a well equipped  gym and good sized sauna (with crushed ice dispenser) though the steam room was not working while we were there.

The main pool was 32m in its longest axis, which was great for some serious swimming and it was seldom busy. It was heated to 25C. There were always plenty of sun loungers. The gardens on the way down to the beach gate were very beautiful and immaculately maintained. The gate opens with your room card after 07:15 and I went swimming in the sea at dawn most mornings. The sea tends to be calmest at dawn. The wind and surf pick up in the afternoons and red flags were flying on several days when I had enjoyed a calm dawn swim. There is a water spray with a bench just inside the gate for cleaning sand from the beach off your feet.

The hotel is just 10 minutes from the airport by taxi but we never noticed aircraft noise. There is great walking on the esplanade in either direction from the hotel beach gate. There is a wide variety of restaurants, shops and bars within a few minutes. We did not hire a car but the hotel is on several bus routes to towns and beaches and the stops are only 350m away, outside Hotel Jameos. A single ticket to Playa Blanca was €4.75.

To cut to the chase, we enjoyed Lava Beach so much that we booked for 21 days next February before we left the hotel.

The staff, facilities and location of this wonderful hotel met all our expectations and more!

What a lovely hotel! The facilities are great, the staff are lovely, the entertainment great, would be more than happy to go back there! Air conditioning, lovely balconies with lovely comfy chairs to relax on and at least one sun lounger per room. Daily water as standard and a mini bar on arrival.
We were there to chill out and enjoy some sunshine so that’s exactly what we did. I’m ashamed to say we didn’t explore the island, the furthest we ventured was to the supermarket which is literally next door. 
I think I would be inclined to hire a car if we go back 

Relax in Style

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Our second time at Lava Beach & booked up for next trip before we left. Love the hotel, the room, the pool area, the food & facilities. Perfect break!

Our first time at Lava Beach and won’t be our last. What a beautiful hotel with lovely staff. We stayed on a half board basis, food was exceptional and constantly replenished. Rooms and grounds of this hotel are stunning. No reserving sun beds here and it is adhered to as well. Crazy golf and Padel court. Beautiful rooms with lovely bed, so quiet. Staff here make this hotel and the general manager is hands on every day, it really is one happy big family, they work hard to please. A huge thankyou to all, we will return.
