Pool

Just back from a 12 day holiday, and we really enjoyed our time! Rooms are clean and today, cleaned every day by the nicest cleaners! Towels were meant to be changed every three days but they were done every other day! The pool is a nice size, and clean! None of the staff annoy you, however there was one particular member of the pool staff that had extremely bad BO and you could smell it everywhere, a few people did comment on this. It was 10 min walk to the marina, and 15 min to the main strip! 

The only thing that i could say was a negative aspect is the price of their drinks, bars on the strip were 100/150tl cheaper than the hotel! 

Apart from that i would highly recommend these apartments!

Don’t believe everything you read!

Booked this hotel after reading some very good reviews . However, our experience was not soo good. 

Positives ;
Spacious , clean room with a very good sized balcony pool side view

Reception staff in particular Mhemet was excellent and warmly welcomed us and took our cases up to our room  Spoke excellent English and always had a smile, very professional and caring.

Cleaning staff excellent, our room was daily cleaned and fresh towels every day. Lovely to come back to your room after a sweaty day out to beds freshly made and fresh towels. Faultless

Hotel is spotless...With the most friendly maids who clean your room with care. 

Negatives:

We booked half board and was a bit underwhelmed with the food on offer breakfast was Coffee or juice can't have both . Breakfast food options was OK but could be better. 
Dinner was underwhelming, having read how good the food was, I was looking forward to tasting some of the foods mentioned in the reviews but half boarders get a very different menu a few chicken dishes , 3 fish dishes, pasta and pizza , kebabs, beef or chicken Wok, Moussaka 
You have no choice of starter just some complimentary bread with 3 dips ..same every night. The food  came lukewarm , we had seabass with a little side salad that's it . I ordered the fish and chips and counted 11 chips which were reheated.  AVOID the Half board option . I have been to many half board hotels and the choice of food is overwhelming, and great value for money , but just 1 main meal choice and no starter and desserts at this hotel was a bit disappointing. You do get offered some water melon but thats it, while we were eating our 5th  lukewarm meal of the week and seeing roast dinners being enjoyed by others who were self catering,(payable) we decided to go out for breakfast and dinner for our second week. We could have complained but felt it would of not been appreciated. We could have a roast dinner but had to pay extra, unfair really considering it's a bit of meat and veg 

Pool staff are very young and a little immature and need to be made aware of their boundaries not all guests appreciate their messing about around the pool area and 
Constantly asking guests if they want to buy a drink, not all British people like drinking Alchol in the day in 32 degree heat .  Each to their own i suppose but did feel that we were in the minority drinking water bought from the hotel around the pool was perhaps a bit odd 😅 

The exception to the pool staff  was the very experienced, more grown up 
Bar Manager John, lovely person and  very professional and worked hard to ensure everyone was looked after. 

Constant loud music from 9am In the morning until around 6pm then from 6.30 until midnight ..no chance of a siesta, rap music blaringly loud.
Not a great sleep in the hotel, when the music is switched off at 12 midnight..Guests can  carry on the night around the pool, bar area which is the main area for eating and drinking and socialising until the early hours of the morning. 
Greatly encouraged by the pool bar staff, which makes for more sales 
Not fair if you are up early for your day excursion and being picked up early. 

Entertainment was non existent apart from a 10mins salsa dance more like a warm up act for the pool staff to take over with repetitive songs .if I hear "sex on the beach" one more time followed by more tacky songs and dancing ...this is not Entertainment. 

Air conditioning cost is a little steep but needed. 8.00 per day 
Having to buy your own toilet roll is a new one on me , but packed my own , having read the reviews so not a problem, but cheap enough to buy at the hotel at only 7lira a roll. 

Turkey and the Turkish people are wonderful and welcoming, having visited the Dalaman region a few times and now going  back after 10 years it was a bit disappointing this time but the hotel and location probably wasn't our cup of tea to be fair we are a middle aged couple who enjoy the more quieter hotels But marmaris,has plenty to offer most tourists and worth a visit. I hope the karakas Apt Hotel look at the constructive reviews and perhaps make some changes because this hotel would be wonderful,  one of the cleanest I have ever visited just need a few adjustments so that what is being advertised from the holiday companies are more transparent before you book .

Positive highlights :
Boat trips fabulous value ( Smaller Boats are better not so booze cruise)
Jeep safari a must 
Dolmush (Bus ) to Icmeler 
Water taxi to Turunc market
Water fountain known as the singing fountain in the centre 
Harbour a lovely walk after dinner 
Grand Bazarr which has many shops 

Restaurant called Gira a short stroll from the hotel excellent mixed Kebab it is where the locals hang out , food cheap and excellent value.  They do not serve Alchol. 
Plenty of supermarkets close to hotel and a traditional cafe bar  called the Black Sea close to hotel where the host is welcoming and prides himself on cooking a great English breakfast with HP Sauce too. 😝

All in all great few days, you make your holiday what you want and we were fortunate to be able to afford the second week eating out of the hotel and had a couple of self catered breakfast of fresh eggs and the wonderful turkish bread . 

Like most countries nowdays cost of living is high and it's the same issue in Turkey some places are more expensive to eat and drink especially around bar street so bare this in mind and pack a few more turkish lira but still much cheaper than the UK.  Enjoy !!

And all food was very nice and cooked to.perfection 

Hotel was very nice and clean
Rooms nice and clean and have everything you would need on holiday .
Good.location to walk to the beach and shops about 10 mins

Had a lovely Holiday at club karakas

Stayed a week here, people here very friendly, the hotel spotless, the guys work hard to look after you. Its a bit out from the busy town area bout 15 mins walk to the harbour and a bit of a trek to the other main shopping area just behind the main beach. Taxis not cheap,  but you get a good size apartment, beds are comfy.

Good value hotel.

Excellent hotel, very helpful and friendly staff. Entertainment staff Gigi & Chelsea was outstanding and most helpful I really can’t praise them enough. Service from them is next level. Thank you so so much 10/10. Great location with shops etc close by
