A hotel's primary purpose above all else is a comfortable sleeping experience and  second is the food..  They failed horribly on both fronts.

This hotel like all others have an a/c unit in the room.  There is no cross ventilation so the rooms can get very hot.  This hotel seems to think it's ok to control when you can have the a/c on. Their schedule is 11am-3pm / 8pm-10pm / 4am-7am, when they turn OFF your a/c automatically.   Every morning I was waking up at 5am in a pool of sweat and plain miserable.   This is a big NO NO. I tried to explain this to management, but they could care less. Their response is hotel is trying to save money! Really?  

To make matters worse,  9 of 9 of my family members got food poisoning from something the hotel served.  We couldn't figure out what that could be. We only ate from the hotel so it was definitely something we ate here.  While we were discussing the sickness at our table, two other families staying at hotel heard us and told us several of their family got food poisoning too.  We told the hotel manager and he blew it off trying to tell us that we're just not used to the food around here. Totally arrogant response. We stuck with only fully cooked food after that. No salads or skined fruits or veggies.

What we we hoping to achieve was for them to investigate and make a proper attempt to resolve what they were doing wrong with their food preparation and not to dismiss it as our problem.  We will be reporting them to the health department.  

Moving on.  
No beach towels provided. 
We had purchased unlimited alcohol wrist bands, but after 10pm dinner ends and you no longer are able to get any drinks soda or alcohol without paying.  Also very bad imo.  All other hotels don't do this.

Overall the hotel looks clean and the view from my sea view room with balcony was quite pretty.  Easy access to the beach.  Plenty of chairs for relaxing.  Beach property size ok for the hotel. It does share beach with another hotel and what seemed to be a public beach area.  Mix of sand and rocks in beach area.  Only a few sea Urchins to be wary of. It has a very nice boardwalk extending out a small ways into sea.  Unfortunately they lock it in the evenings.

Wifi didn't work at all for 2 of the 5 days we were there.  When working lobby was really only place it would work.

The hotel is pretty far from Kuşadası ( 40 mins away) which is where you can find a lot of shopping, restaurants, nightlife. That is area why most people come in the first place.  This hotel is in very quiet area. Nothing much around, no night life  But there is a nature reserve near by that is very nice.

Come get sick

This hotel’s location, close to the sea, is great. That’s the most positive thing I can say. As for the rest, read on. 

I slept in both a regular room and a ‘deluxe room’ during my stay, and both come with their owns problems. The deluxe rooms are quite comfortable, with good beds and good bathroom facilities and the airconditioning works well. On the other hand, probably because they’re at the most southern end of the hotel, the Wi-Fi signal is virtually non-existent on both the ground floor and the first floor. So if you don’t care about having Wi-Fi in your room, this might be for you. On the the other hand if you want/need Wi-Fi, and think “I’ll go for a regular room, then”. You might be dissappointed as well. 

The ‘regular’ rooms have their own problems with Wi-Fi, and more. The Wi-fi signal in the regular rooms is defintely better then in the deluxe rooms, but still gets progressively worse the further south you go. In the furthest regular room from the reception, even just loading Youtube’s front page will take you half an hour and a lot of frustration. 
Along with the Wi-Fi issues comes other problems/shortcoming. In the experience of me and my group of friends, fully half the regular rooms have airconditioning that does not work, or works inadequately. So much so that, after a night of sleep, the room itself was actually warmer then it was outside in the morning. And that’s with the airconditioning on, all night. The next problem at Faustina, involves the beds. The beds in the regular room are much, much harder then those in the Deluxe rooms, but to be fair, they are regular rooms so luxury beds should not be expected. What should be expected is that beds are actually long enough for their occupants, which they may not be. If you are 1,75 meters tall (5’9) or taller your feet will be sticking out like sore thumbs. So that’s a problem, as it was for me (I’m 1.80 meters tall). The last thing about the regular rooms is that the shower is ridiculously small. Even for someone with a relatively fit body, just standing in it will prove uncomfortable, let alone people with a larger physique. Claustrophobics be warned! 

Lastly, the hotel’s personel. While almost everyone working at the hotel was kind and welcoming, there was one constant issue with regard to the reception. The men and women at the reception had the frankly frustrating habit of insisting that the things we complained about weren’t true. When we said the wifi wasn’t working.? They insisted it was working, even though it wasn’t. Same with the airconditioning, we said it wasn’t working (partially, or at all). And they kept saying it was working fine. Lastly, after you’ve gone back and forth with them a half dozen times about this, they switch tactics. Instead of (figuratively) trying to convince you that rain isn’t wet, they claim they can’t fix it, because they necessary technician isn’t there/available. And we heard this excuse from the reception throughtout several points during the day. At 9AM, 11AM, 12PM, 3PM, 5PM and 9PM. How can there be no technician in that hotel, the entire (week)day?  Or the day after, when we asked again? I’m at a loss. 

In summary, location is great, personel is nice, but the accomodations need some real work.

Not terrible, not great.

I recommend this hotel! The hotel service is organized at a high level. There is a good hotel service – both restaurant and room service.  Tasty food, lots of fresh vegetables and salads. Rooms are cleaned almost every day.  The staff is engaged and friendly. Each of the staff was very helpful when I needed it. The hotel is well located, on the first coastline, close to the national park. Resting well is great here. I think it is a good base for exploring Aegean Turkey. 
By the way, I want to draw attention to women who are planning to stay at the hotel.  One man rents premises for a shop from the hotel. His surname is Ziyo. Be careful, he is looking for "erotic adventures" (it doesn’t matter if you are single or spend the holiday with your husband. He likes touching women. He may invite you to his shop (to see the clothes he sells or for a coffee) and then would want to touch you, also your buttocks and breasts. During my staying at Guzamceli, it happened to me as well as three other women I know (we suppose there are more women in similar situations). I have a great request to the owner and the manager of the hotel: suppress such behavior both in Ziyo and in any other employees who will want to behave in this way!

The hotel looks nice and has a great patio to enjoy a drink while looking at the Agean. It's right on a very small, rocky beach. The pool was nice.

Some rooms have beautiful balconies with a view. I got a crap room looking at the garbage and decrepit tennis court that was clearly over the kitchen and stunk like the kitchen. The balcony was a sliver with room for 1 chair - not that you'd want to sit out there. 

Only two, very small elevators that move at a glacial pace. Plan to carry your bags up the circular staircase or wait a long time. 

The hotel clearly states not to drink the tap water, yet provides no drinking water unless you want to pay for it. Bring your own toiletries. Wi-Fi doesn't work. Food was ok. 



Just ok

We were 2 families with children and we stayed in triple size rooms, that were comfortable, with enough space, big bathroom and a stunnig view from the balcony.
The food was diversed, a little spicy for my taste, but you have alternatives. The fish was always fresh and the fruits as well. For alchool they only serve local drinks, but you can pay extra for cocktails and other branded alchool drinks.
It's not the only hotel very close to the sea but is the only one in Guzelcamli with a very large beach, enough sunbeds and good entrance in the water. That is because there aren't sand beaches in Guzelcamli, there are only beaches with rocks and stones and if you don't have special shoes it very difficult to take a bath in the sea.
The service was extraordinary, the staff very warm and there to help you. It was my son's birthday and they helped organize a beautiful surprise. 
So for all the staff including the manager you have our appreciation. You did a good job and Faustina Hotel deserves the 5 stars.

Wonderful experience!

Located on own stretch of beach with spectacular views over the Aegean Sea and the nearby Greek island of Samos, the hotel is in the small town of Guzelcamli with the wonderful Dilek National Park on its doorstep. The larger resort of Kusadasi, a popular port of call for the large cruise ships is just 25 km away and easily reachable by public transport.
