great food at the Turkish restaurant Ehab the waiter did a great job. Very nice place to relax. Wonderful sandy beach, very nice people, we recommend. Food with different themes, everyone will find something for themselves. We will definitely come back here.

Wounderful resort salalah rotana,we had holiday rotana,its very beautiful,the weather is superb,its around 35 to40 that we enjoyed a lot,room is fantastic,food superb ,drinks mouthwatering ,i would like have that kind of restaurant everyday,team is superb,Waiter Ashraf is great ,always take care about us,others bindu,manush ,hriti great service ,the leader mr atul is best ,we are satisfied with service ,we will come back upcoming november ,see you soon Salalah rotana❤️

Enjoy holiday with sweet hard

We were very satisfied with services. The restaurant Rotana Club are the best of professional services: Bindu, Nia, Snow, Ahmed, Athul, Ajay, Sarang. Bindu brought a beer for my father and brought water for my mother. And the best of the  beach Rotana Club is Salam.

Definitely not a 5*.
They make the same mistake as in Egypt , Tunis and Turkey - slowly turning a fantastic resort with extraordinary location, facilities, lovingly maintained grounds - into a budget all-inclusive 3*  for  not too demanding guests. Restaurant (we had half-board - breakfast and dinner buffet) was still slightly better than 3*, at least coffee was from good beans machines. But they don't have enough cups/spoons/sugar, you have to steal them from the neighbors tables. Every morning! ))  I missed the smoked salmon. Generally, not so much fish in the menu. And they must change the cook - beef and lamb dishes in the dinner buffet were... hmm... acceptable. Sometimes. 
Fresh-pressed juice at breakfast? 6 bucks per glass.
The one-time seafood beach buffet was great... But not included in the half-board. About 40 bucks per person.  They even served white wine there... Which I wouldn't recommend )) 
The worst and the best experience was still the beach. Fantastic tiny light and clean, sand, clearest water, medium-sized waves that suddenly disappear as you swim  30 meters away from the shore, so you can lie on your back (except for 3 stormy days with red flags - still could swim in "Laguna" though it's not quite the same). Romantic umbrellas with small bird nests in a thatched roof... And terribly dirty old sunbeds with even older end dirtier mattresses that YOU HAVE TO RESERVE EVERY MORNING AT 6 AM with your towel, otherwise after breakfast, you won't have neither umbrella nor sunbed.  One towel per person per day.  After 2 days of this nightmare we complained, and got a special arrangement for extra towels and for beach boy to find newer sunbeds/mattresses and keep them reserved for us.
The beach doesn't feel overbooked though, because it's really big. They just need more umbrellas. And new sunbeds.
I honestly believe that Oman is a very safe country. Still, in Shangri-la Muscat where we stayed few times before, we occasionally saw security guards walking around hotel grounds, and modern security cameras here and there. 
In Rotana Salalah it's probably even safer... No security guards at all, and quite rare old cameras.  We have had a small and maybe even funny security incident, when some strange local guy wearing Rotana badge but extremely old sandals and clothes, approached my wife near the outdoor elevator, trying to grab her by hand, show something in his old phone and presumably trying to make a selfie with her (we both are 64 years old BTW). She was quite scared, told me about it, and few minutes later,  I saw the guy near the same place again, pretending to talk by phone. I tried to walk to him, but he turned around and quickly went away, keeping to "talk". 
We ran to reception to report it, they said "Security officer will come at 9am and will find you. Indeed, he found us on the beach 2 hours later, wrote down our testimony on a small piece of paper... 
I asked him if they can check the security cameras. Yes, he said, sure, we can OPEN them to see records. OPEN. SECURITY. CAMERAS. What century are we in?! )) 
...and we never heard from him again
Few days later, I saw that strange guy walking around and talking to his old phone. Didn't care to report again ))
Well... I liked it anyway. The February beach and the water  are still the best I've seen within less than 10 hours flight from Europe, Maybe we'll  even go with  grandchildren... But for sure shall keep an eye on them. And arrange for special beach service in advance.

Great beach and grounds, but degrading facilities and service

Instead of a studio room, we were upgraded to a stunning villa by the waterways, with a beautiful garden—simply breathtaking. The villa was near the amphitheater, and we were immediately offered a room change if the noise was an issue. The food was delicious, the pool water warm, the views spectacular, and the staff incredibly kind.

The biggest surprise was the seamless communication via WhatsApp. I must highlight Ms. Rula, who was absolutely amazing—always in touch, arranging flowers for Women’s Day, organizing transport to Fanar Hotel, making à la carte reservations, and keeping us informed about events. An incredible woman!

Initially, I would have rated it 4 stars, but thanks to Ms. Rula, it’s a solid 5! A fantastic hotel and an unforgettable stay—we will definitely return.
