General view

The hotel is okay. The atmosphere in the restaurant is amazing. However, it is very boost at night- at least on the weekend. 
But the beach was totally washed away as we came in February 2025! Therefore, we choose to cancel the stay. Instead we went to Tulum. And we love it here.

Beach is washed away!

Hotel felt classy as soon as we arrived. Beautifully decorated. Garden and beach bar felt special. Beach bar had been recently updated. Having breakfast and sunset drink each day there was a highlight. Also had dinner a couple of times. All good. 
All the staff were friendly and helpful. Thanks Alma, Hector and Karina.
The car parking was a bonus.
The hotels central location means there is some noise from nearby clubs on some nights but wasn’t enough to disturb our sleep.

Fabulous beach side stay in Playa

Clean rooms and awesome staff. Hector, Alma and Karina go out of their way to provide excellent service. They will arrange transportation for you as well as any type of local adventure you are interested in. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to stay close to the ocean and action of 5th.

Great place, close to the parties

Amazing restaurant and service . Chef Rafael Jimenez is a real artist . His dishes are very flavourful and prepared in a very refined style . Amazing experience. Service is very attentive and the quality of the ingredients is going above and beyond the expectations. A real luxury experience

I wanted to experience the Mexican cousin by the beach and it was the best choice

This hotel is situated right next to a very noisey nightclub and the bass from it kept us awake all night despite our room being the furthest from the entrance.

Also this hotel does not have a beach and the photos are very misleading. Apparently it was washed away during a hurricane. 

We thought we would be ok to book this hotel with no pool as we could lounge on the beach, no chance of that. 

When we wanted to cut short our stay (we stayed 2 nights but had booked for 6 nights) due the excessive noise form the nightclub we were told we would have to pay a 1 nights cancellation fee by Hector who was on reception at the time. Obviously I was not happy about this but Hector stated “what did I expect staying in the centre of playa del carmen and that I should have seen this in the reviews”. He did then offer us a drinks voucher.

Thankfully when we checked out the lady on the desk was more reasonably and after my protests about the cancellation fee, did not charge us. 

I give this hotel 2 stars as the room was clean, it’s in a central location and they made good cocktails.

Don’t go here if you want to sleep or a beach

This comfortable hotel is in Playa del Carmen. There are a total of 28 units at Colibri Beach. The establishment's common areas include Wi-Fi internet connection. Guests are welcomed in a lobby with 24-hour reception. Some services of Colibri Beach may be payable.
