I went to the water park thinking I would have a fun time, when instead, I almost died. I went on the blue and yellow water slide with high hopes, only to be found with a woman named Crystal (i didn’t know her name at the time) pushing me extremely fast after I said this was my first time, stuck inside the slide, with my tube flipped over and I banged my head on the side. It hurt like hell, My tube got stuck so I had to scream for help, the lady at the top named Crystal, heard me and kept manning the other two sides and didn’t care. My friends tried telling her to call somebody, and she didn’t care She didn’t call a lifeguard, nobody. It was dark and I had to physically crawl myself down the entire ride. I was constantly screaming for help and thought I was going to die, no one cared. After this terrible experience when I came down, someone who I went on the trip was there, doing the lifeguards job for them. After this near death  experience, I was hyperventilating. A man named Hussain comes over and asks if I’m okay, in a rude manner. First aid checks on me and they don’t know what they’re even doing. My father talks to the man saying that no one helped, and that this is unacceptable. Hussain then becomes defensive saying “we couldn’t do anything but we care a lot”. He also asks us for the name of the woman who was up there. We ask her name, and she took off her name tag so she wouldn’t get in trouble. We finally get her name and he says “it’s not her fault we can’t do anything”. He starts blaming me, btw I was still going crazy, hyperventilating. He says that maybe I wasn’t sitting properly (I sat normally, the was Crystal told me too), and says stuff such as “well since he wasn’t in there for long enough we can’t do anything”. Then, a lifeguard has the audacity to tell a hyperventilating child “i’m sorry, it wasn’t our fault though so yeah”. Me & my family go to the front desk to complain about this, they send us to guest services. Hussain is there, and he won’t even reimburse us of our $35 USD ticket. He starts being extremely defensive and said “people get stuck all the time on these slides”. He refuses to do anything and says it’s my fault for the 4th time., and starts raising his voice at a child. After this, when I accompany my friend to go on a different slide, Crystal starts screaming at us to go, even though she knows I was just stuck in a different slide and my friend was nervous. Very unhappy, and Crystal and Hussien are the most disrespectful people i’ve ever meant and if you see them stay away from them. They should be fired this is unacceptable.

The property is well kept and the room was clean. The best restaurant for dinner is the Japanese restaurant not to be missed.
The property was very busy so pool and beach was really difficult. 
Also I went during school break so many families.
I selected this priority as I did not want to venture far from the airport as it was a quick getaway from the  winter. 
I would return but maybe go to the adult property Hideaway.

Just what I needed for 3 nights

My 21yo daughter and I took a weekend vacay in Cancun. We had a great time at this resort. We booked a Diamond Club Jacuzzi room and it was totally worth the upgrade. Our butlers were Hector and Silvana and they took care of every detail. They made dinner reservations, filled the jacuzzi every night, took care of transfer back to the airport and checked in with us multiple times during the day. 

The buffet is like a cruise ship buffet on steroids!  It was huge and the food offered was good. I prefer sit down service so we went to Grazie for breakfast and lunch. Quick service and enjoyed the offerings. For dinner we did Teppenyaki and La Maison-the French cuisine. Both were yummy-but the French dinner was truly a step above the rest. 

Yes-you have to get seats by the pool by 7:15 am.  Just plan on doing it. The majority of people at this resort have younger kids and I feel like the kids wake them up early, so the parents go get seats.  We reserved our seats by 7 am, ate breakfast and enjoyed our morning by the pool or beach. You can always nap if it is too early. 

I’ve traveled a lot in Mexico and around the world. This resort is very clean by Mexican standards. It is so hard to keep a property by the beach clean-there is humidity, salt water, and lots of people dragging sand and food everywhere. The staff did a good job keeping everything looking nice. The cleaning product in the rooms has a weird smell but it wore off. 

This resort has a lot of families. I feel like the families were more upscale and the children were pretty well behaved and if not, the parents were correcting them. People dressed up a little at night for the dinners. I’ve been at resorts where kids are allowed to run wild-this isn’t that type of place. 

It was Spring Break and the resort was packed. The service in the Diamond Club was worth the extra price.  No problem getting drinks or snacks.  Leonardo, Claudio and Frida took care of the pool and beach service-super friendly. 

I read a few negative reviews, so I was nervous to go. We had a fabulous experience with good food and drink. I felt safe at this resort and I would go again in a heartbeat!

Fabulous Service-Mother/Daughter Trip

Dont do it! The diamond club staff dont care, food is mediocre at best, got ripped off on an excursion we booked at the hotel, they “lost” our transfer to the airport. Had to chase for coffee  and other stuff for our room. Although we paid for diamond status everyone is treated as part of the herd.  Spend your money elsewhere.

Go somewhere else!

I love the fitness facilities at the resort.  I took a fantastic yoga class with Josue every morning and it was a wonderful way to start the day.  The machines and weights are great and the treadmills have fun programs.  Sofia greets you with a bright smile every morning.  Five stars for sure for Royalton Fitness.
