We stayed at the Kayana for 2 nights in a deluxe suite with private pool and had an amazing stay. The room was large and the bed was comfy. The air con was also amazing. 

We were located towards the back end of the complex and have no complaints regarding noise. It's was pure bliss.

The staff are super attentive and would do anything to ensure your stay was positive.

The breakfast selection was a set breakfast style, but there were plenty of options and the food served was very enjoyable.

The private pool villas are unreal. The Kayana is located right on the main road so we were surprised how when you step into the Kayana it felt like you were miles away from all the noise.

Great place to stay and if I did go back to Seminyak I would most probably stay here. 

Peaceful and relaxing stay 

Our first time at Kayana through Luxury Escape .
We loved the place the Villa was very comfortable great air conditioning. The staff were fantastic. Breakfast was the best we have ever had thoroughly enjoyed it . The restaurant was fantastic great menu and everything delicious.

Bali break

The Kayana Resort offers a generally positive experience, though it can vary depending on the location of your villa. Villas 811, 815, 817, 821, and 823 are in the more tranquil parts of the property, providing a peaceful retreat away from the nearby main road. These are ideal for guests seeking serenity. 
On the other hand, villas near the lobby—such as 801, 802, 803, and 806—tend to suffer from noise due to their proximity to the entrance and occasional street sounds.

A standout feature of The Kayana is the immediate sense of calm that washes over you upon entering, despite the hustle and bustle of the lively street just outside. 

However, the resort’s atmosphere can be compromised by a nearby nightclub, which occasionally plays loud music well into the night, particularly on weekdays. This disruption, though rare, is beyond the resort’s control and may affect the overall experience.

To ensure a relaxing stay, I recommend booking villas farther from the lobby. 
In terms of service, The Kayana excels. The staff is exceptionally kind, hospitable, and always willing to go above and beyond, delivering five-star service. The food is generally quite good, adding to the overall enjoyment of the stay.

However, the resort does lose a star in my rating due to two factors: the occasional disruption from the nightclub and the condition of the villas, which are starting to show signs of wear and could benefit from some refurbishment. 
While still comfortable, the accommodations are beginning to look a bit tired and dated.

Still beautiful despite its age.

Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and like another reviewer mentioned - I do not understand the positive reviews.

My partner and I stayed at the Kayana for 4 nights in September 2024 as the last stop on our honeymoon. On arrival, we were greeted in the lobby and explained to by management that they were undertaking maintenance to the roof on their villas and specifically the villa adjacent to ours. They were immediately apologetic. When we arrived at the villa, we were greeted by the sound of a circular saw and constant hammering. We entered into the villa and could see workmen sitting on the roof of the villa opposite who could see straight into our villa and pool. This work was scheduled to be undertaken every day from 8.30am-5.30pm…

To add to this, when entering the villa we were provided with ear plugs. The villa was at the front of the property next to the night club… which was so incredibly loud you had to have the TV on volume 40 with ear plugs in to actually fall asleep. Perhaps this wouldn’t have been a problem if you want to be out the whole night, but given we also couldn’t stay in the villa during the day due to the building work I was wondering when we were supposed to sleep?

Finally, my partner complained about the building work after us both sitting in the room in tears feeling like we just wanted to go home (not what you want on your honeymoon). The hotel did upgrade us to a better room at the back of the hotel for the rest of our stay but fundamentally I did not feel we should have had to ask for this, particularly given we were here on our honeymoon and wanting a relaxing stay. The hotel should not be putting anyone in the rooms adjacent to building work unless they are offering them significant money off their stay. Whilst I appreciate they will lose money, it is not fair to paying customers.

Alongside all of this, the servicing of the hotel was poor. We returned from breakfast to find our villa front door left unlocked after housekeeping had been to service the room. The following day, housekeeping took our towels and didn’t replace them so we had to ring through to reception… and they also didn’t leave us enough toilet paper so we ran out.

The staff at breakfast were often off in the kitchen having private conversations. When wanting another drink, we had to wait 20 minutes for them to come out/go and get someone. Similarly the dinner service was inconsistent with us being provided a free entree on one night and nothing on other nights. Another night we had the napkin laid on our laps by staff, other nights we didn’t… one night we had a candle on the table, another we didn’t… the list goes on.

The villas are tired with stained linen and chair fabrics as other reviewers have mentioned, the wood is chipped and faded.

The only positive I would have said about this place was that the food was very nice… however, on my last night I ended up with Bali belly and spent the night huddled over the toilet. We exclusively ate at the Kayana for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and my symptoms came on 1.5 hours after eating, so I am 100% certain that this food poisoning came from their restaurant. 

The final nail in the coffin was when we enquired about a late check out we were told this would cost 1,500,000 IDR. Considering that we couldn’t enjoy the first day (or night) in the hotel due to their building works I felt this was poor customer service. The hotel did not have new guests coming into our room that day, so why they could not have extended a late check out to us as a good will gesture I do not understand. Instead, I had to sit in the restaurant lounge (which has no air con) with Bali belly feeling horrific waiting for my transfer to the airport. If it wasn’t my honeymoon, and I wasn’t feeling ill, I would have complained but ultimately I just felt it wasn’t worth it.

All in all, a pretty horrific stay all round and almost ruined our honeymoon (if it wasn’t for the lovely hotels we had stayed at in our previous 2 weeks in Bali). Do not stay here unless you have low expectations.

Worst stay of my life and Bali belly

Booked via Luxury Escapes, we stayed in a one-bedroom pool villa (with larger pool) for five nights en route to Singapore.

We had an impeccable stay. From the villa staff, amenities, food and drink, and also the massage service.

While the villas are a little tired, they are still perfectly adequate and very comfortable, relaxing and private. If you'd prefer a quieter sleep, my advice is to request a villa towards the back, away from the road. Fortunately for us, we were at the very back, and couldn't hear anything except the sound of our pool! 

We found the food yummy, and the choice to have any of the meals at either the restaurant or in-villa was very convenient!

The gym was also adequate, though a little small - but gets the job done!

Overall a pleasant, relaxing stay in a lovely villa serviced by a great location - walking distance to most things!

Relaxing stay, great location!
