Discover the vibrant city of Chiang Mai with this three-day itinerary. Take a boat trip along the Ping River, visit the bustling Warorot Market, and explore the city's largest flower and fruit market. Visit Wat Ton Kwen and enjoy an authentic cooking experience with a local family. On the final day, you can choose to relax or explore the city's many attractions, including the famous Handicraft Highway. Don't miss the chance to treat yourself to a relaxing massage before departing Chiang Mai.
Upon arrival at Chiang Mai airport, you will be transferred to your hotel, Banthai Village, for check-in. In the afternoon, you will embark on a 45-minute boat trip along the Ping River, admiring the scenery and local life along the riverbanks. Next, you will take a tricycle, known locally as a sam lor, to the famous Warorot Market, where you can explore countless stalls offering a wide variety of food, drinks, accessories, and household items. Adjacent to the market is the largest flower and fruit market in the city. You will then return to the hotel for some time at leisure. In the evening, you may wish to visit the lively night bazaar to shop for souvenirs.
Breakfast & Lunch
Today, you will travel to Wat Ton Kwen, also known as Wat Inthrawat, located in the southern part of the city. This stunning temple is one of the finest examples of classic Lanna architecture in Northern Thailand. Next, you will head to Hang Dong for an authentic gastronomic experience with a local Ruankaew-Yanon family. You will have the opportunity to cook traditional recipes using authentic Northern Thai flavours and experience the daily life of a Thai person in a real Thai neighbourhood. This experience offers a unique cooking class that differs from the typical ones offered in hotels. Later, you will return to the Banthai Village hotel, and the rest of the day will be at leisure.
Breakfast
On your final morning in Chiang Mai, you can choose to relax at the hotel or explore more of the city. If you want to purchase last-minute souvenirs, we suggest returning to Warorot Market to browse its bustling stalls. Alternatively, you can stroll along the Ping River, relax at a coffee shop, and visit San Kamphaeng Road, known as Handicraft Highway, which is lined with boutiques selling various handmade products. You could also treat yourself to a relaxing massage before bidding farewell to Chiang Mai and transfer to the airport for your onward journey.
