Sri Lanka Travel Advice

Entry requirements:

  • Entry requirements for all travellers: All COVID-19 requirements have been lifted for entering Sri Lanka.

Passport validity:

Your passport should be valid for 6 months from the date you arrive in Sri Lanka.

Visa requirements:

  • You should apply for an e-visa for Sri Lanka online here, at least a few days before departure. You should get your approval notice within 24 hours, and you can use this to enter Sri Lanka.

  • Further information on eligibility is available on the Department of Immigration and Emigration website.

Travel forms:

  • Online embarkation form: An online embarkation form is available, which will replace the paper embarkation card. Foreign nationals can complete the online form three days prior to arrival in Sri Lanka. The service is free of charge.

Additional information:

  • UK Emergency Travel Documents: Accepted for entry, airside transit, and exit from Sri Lanka.

  • Yellow fever certificate requirements: Check whether you need a yellow fever certificate by visiting the TravelHealthPro website.
